YOGA

Yoga is a Hindu spiritual and ascetic discipline, in the western world we often use Yoga for breathing control, specific body movements and postures alongside a simple approach to meditation which all makes for the perfect relaxation class with tremendous health benefits.

Yoga is a truly ancient form of fitness, which develops physical fitness and mental well-being. Certain to increase strength and flexibility.

Choose one of our beginners classes (we recommend) Hatha for a gentle and calming Yoga introduction. Also suitable for the more experienced, this class will help you tone muscles, have more balance and move in a more fluid motion.

For a more challenging workout we recommend Ashtanga, a vigorous form of Yoga and requires focus where in return it promises to challenge muscles and keep you flexible, supple and feeling amazing.

Vinyasa Yoga at Synergy on Sunday mornings is a practice of flowing asanas, (poses) unified with breath and mindfulness, a little core work thrown in for good measure and culminating with restorative Savasana, (relaxation pose). I believe Yoga can be a balance of: fun, focus, accessibility for all, and an empowering tool that can be utilised in all aspects of our lives. I look forward to seeing you on the mat.

I teach hatha yoga sequences, a slower pace than flow, giving the student more time to explore the nuances of the pose and perfect their alignment. This approach is suitable for beginners to help them develop their technique and also for more experienced students looking to refine their practice. I do use hands-on adjustments to help the student progress with their poses, but this is always optional – your choice. There is a strong emphasis on breathing technique and every session finishes with a guided relaxation to send you on your way stress-free.
